Background After working in various commercial roles in Retail, Sales, IT,
and Warehousing, Ed decided he wanted to work with animals. Although he had an HNC in IT, he realised that to
work with animals he would need to become qualified in animal care. He thinks 'bytes are worse than barks'
Qualifications Ed went to college where gained a
Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Animal Management after a two year course at Solihull College.
He then went to work at the West Midlands Safari Park as a Carnivore Keeper
where he was responsible for the big cats (Lions, Tigers and Cheetahs). His main responsibility however was
the care and welfare of the packs of African Wild Dogs and Dholes (Asian Wild Dogs). He even has a Wild African
Dog there named after him.
Ed studied further animal qualifications and now has a Certificate in Canine Basic First Aid and
Foundation and Advanced Diplomas in Canine Behaviour. These qualifications were gained with Distinction.
Ed is now a qualified Canine Behavourist
